Feeling Your Best with Acupuncture, Cupping, and More

Modalities and Techniques Used

Acupuncture

A time tested healing practice that involves the insertion of fine needles into specific therapeutic points on the body. The insertion of the needles initiates the body’s natural healing process to restore problem areas. Acupuncture also communicates with the nervous system to help bring the body back into balance.

Dry Needling /
Trigger Point Therapy

A specialized needling technique that focuses on releasing and resetting tight muscles. This technique is approached in two main ways, addressing physical myofascial adhesions also called “trigger points” and stimulating neuromuscular junctions to reset the nerves to relax muscles.

Electroacupuncture

Different types of electrical currents can be used for specific purposes such as repairing connective tissue, and relieving pain. Currents are able to run through acupuncture needles to address hard-to-reach areas such as muscles, joints, and connective tissues. It is often very soothing to the patient, providing a soft humming and, essentially, a more fluid treatment.

Scraping/Gua Sha

A manual therapy where an instrument is used to scrape over the surface of the skin to break up tight muscles and facial adhesions. This is a form of soft tissue therapy that will enhance blood circulation and healing to problem areas. Some of the advantages of scraping therapy include a decrease in overall treatment/recovery time, reduction of the need for anti-inflammatory medication, and effective treatment of some chronic conditions.

Massage

The practice of kneading or manipulating a person’s muscles and other soft-tissue in order to improve conditions and wellbeing. It is a form of manual therapy that includes holding, moving, and applying pressure to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. The benefits of massage range from lowering stress to reducing pain and improving sleep.

Cupping

A type of alternative therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction improves the flow of energy and circulation of blood to the area to facilitate healing. Cupping functions to move lymph fluid to remove toxins, relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and increase blood flow.

Ear Seeds

The ear encompasses an entire micro system of the body. Tiny seeds or 24K gold pellets are secured on the ear as a way to take home your treatment. The doctor will place the seeds on the corresponding therapeutic points to help with your condition.

Auricular Acupuncture

There are acupuncture points on the ear which correspond to every part of the body. The combination of traditional acupuncture with auricular acupuncture can make an even more effective treatment. This therapy can be used to relieve pain, calm the mind, regulate the endocrine system disorders, and other chronic diseases.
